BOTOX in Sugar Land
Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Houston and Sugar Land, TX
BOTOX is an injectable neurotoxin used to diminish the appearance of facial wrinkles. In the world of cosmetic procedures, it is one of the most common non-surgical options for rejuvenating the skin and adding a youthful glow back into the face.
During the aging process, it can be discouraging to see fine lines and wrinkles show up in the forehead and around the eyes. But more invasive cosmetic procedures like brow lifts and eyelid surgery are not your only options when it comes to adding youthful shape and smoothness to the face.
If you have concerns about wrinkles and lines, particularly those in the upper face, Dr. Ahmadi and his staff in Sugar Land are here to help. Call (281) 265-2639 or fill out our online contact form today to schedule a consultation.

About BOTOX and Neurotoxins
In the US, botulinum toxin injection is the most frequently performed non-surgical cosmetic procedure. It is used to treat frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet. Botulinum is a neurotoxin that, when injected, directly targets muscles and relaxes them, reducing wrinkles in the skin. The face is primed to wrinkle because the muscles are not often attached to bone but to the skin. This allows the skin to move and create wrinkles perpendicular to the muscle. (1)
BOTOX effectively relaxes the facial muscles enough to smooth out the wrinkles and lines. Also known as neuromodulators, BOTOX and other brands like Dysport and Xeomin contain botulinum toxin, which blocks the muscle nerves from communicating with the brain.
Safety is Key
When considering any treatment that alters facial appearance, it is important to know your options beforehand. BOTOX is very safe and effective in minimizing wrinkles and rarely causes complications. (2) Compared to fillers and other types of nonsurgical cosmetic procedures, it is extremely effective at reducing the look of noticeable wrinkles.
What is “Baby BOTOX?”
If you are new to BOTOX injections, are a younger patient, or have very fine lines that don’t necessarily need a full injection, you can microdose BOTOX to achieve a more subtle and natural looking result. This requires a much smaller amount of the neurotoxin, but can still create amazing results. This method can also be used to prevent wrinkles from forming in the first place as well as smooth out existing ones.
What is a Lip Flip?
A lip flip is a nonsurgical procedure used to give your lips a naturally full appearance using neuromodulators like BOTOX. Here, the provider targets the corners of the mouth and the outline of the top lip. This allows the muscles around the lips to relax and the top to flip up, making the outline fuller and the shape more aesthetically pleasing. It is another use for BOTOX that does not concentrate on wrinkles, but rather enhances the appearance of an important facial feature without making it look unnatural. It is a way to achieve plumper, more defined lips without the use of hyaluronic acid fillers.

Personal Consultation
Dr. Ahmadi will first examine the targeted area for possible injection sites, keeping in mind your overall expectations. To take full advantage of the meeting, you’ll want to prepare any questions you may have about the procedure and its benefits beforehand. He will make suggestions based on your goals to determine how much BOTOX you will receive in order to meet your expectations. Once all of your questions and concerns have been answered, you may receive the treatment right after your consultation, or you can also schedule an appointment for another day.
Preparation
To be fully prepared for BOTOX injections, it is important that you make Dr. Ahmadi aware of any known allergies or sensitivities during your consultation. It is useful to attend your appointment without makeup or heavy moisturizer so the injection sites can be easily cleaned for a swift procedure. As with all cosmetic procedures, it is also important to stop smoking before and after to ensure quick healing.
BOTOX Procedure
BOTOX procedures are minimally-invasive and do not usually require additional numbing. Dr. Ahmadi can apply a numbing cream or a cold compress if necessary, but you will also have the option to decline these measures. He will then take a fine needle and administer the BOTOX in very small doses to the decided upon areas. Depending on the amount of BOTOX required, this can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes to complete, giving you plenty of time to go back to your daily activities.
Recovery & Results
There is virtually no downtime for this procedure, and you are free to go about your day straight afterward. You may have some bruising around the injection site, but it should clear up within a week. Dr. Ahmadi might suggest a cold compress treatment for later on in the day if you experience any residual pain, though it should be minimal.
As the neuromodulating action is not immediate, it will take 7 to 10 days to see the full effect of BOTOX injections. You will notice a difference right away, and the effects can last up to 6 months. If you notice the BOTOX wearing off, we advise you to come back in for a maintenance appointment.
Corresponding & Complementary Procedures
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are often used to fill in wrinkles as well, but instead of targeting the muscles like BOTOX, they are made of substances like hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite, and poly-l-lactic acid, which provide additional volume. These fillers can tackle wrinkles and asymmetry in the face with the same ease as BOTOX, and many last longer. They will be gradually absorbed by your body, so like BOTOX, they require upkeep as well.
Kybella
Kybella is another minimally-invasive injectable. It is made from deoxycholic acid, a substance found in the human body that helps with fat breakdown and absorption. Kybella can be injected into the submental (chin) area to help reduce a double-chin or excess fat stored under the jaw.
Laser Resurfacing
Laser resurfacing uses light in uniform wavelengths, increasing the skin’s production of collagen as well as its ability to heal itself. This can help with acne scars, wrinkles, and fine lines. Combined with BOTOX injections, it rejuvenates the face quickly and effectively.
Cost of BOTOX in Sugar Land
The cost of BOTOX treatment is completely dependent on the number of vials that you receive from Dr. Ahmadi. If you receive baby BOTOX, for instance, you will receive considerably less during your visit compared to a full round of BOTOX.

FAQ
Will the results of my BOTOX procedure last a long time?
After receiving local BOTOX injection, you will see results pretty quickly, typically within 2 weeks. These usually last between 4-6 months. In order to keep up with them you will need to schedule another procedure to achieve wrinkle-smoothing results once more.
At what age is it acceptable to start getting BOTOX?
If you are anywhere from 18-64, you are a great candidate to receive BOTOX injections. There is no age limit to looking and feeling your best.
What should I avoidduring the BOTOX recovery process?
You should try your best to not rub the injection area or any portion of your face after treatment. If the BOTOX is agitated, it could potentially shift and spread to unwanted areas causing uneven results.
