Avéli is a minimally invasive aesthetic treatment that reduces the appearance of cellulite. The treatment focuses on the fibrous bands beneath your skin that pull on fat pockets, which create a texture similar to orange peel and cause a noticeably dimpled appearance. Approximately 80-90% of women experience cellulite; (1) the condition can affect many different areas of the body including the thighs, buttocks, and hips.
At Avante Plastic Surgery, we have helped thousands of patients improve their self-confidence with minimally invasive treatments for smoother skin. Dr. Ahmadi is a board-certified surgeon with decades of experience helping patients sculpt their bodies and balance their proportions.

About Avéli
Cellulite forms when fatty deposits beneath the skin push against the body’s connective tissues, resulting in a puckered, bumpy, or dimpled appearance. The common condition can affect your self-esteem and the way your clothes fit. With Avéli, we can improve the appearance of your skin by freeing the fat cells beneath the connective bands with a thin wand. The treatment can help you achieve a smooth appearance without long surgical scars, downtime, or a lengthy recovery period.
Many patients experience cellulite after hormonal changes from pregnancy and menopause (2) or genetic factors. (3) Leading a sedentary lifestyle or experiencing weight changes (4) can also make cellulite more pronounced. If you are struggling with dimpled skin that is affecting your self-esteem, we can reduce its appearance with this minimally invasive treatment.

- Avoid medications and supplements that thin your blood
- Stop drinking alcohol 24-48 hours before your appointment
- Ask a friend that you trust to drive you home
- Create a comfortable place in your home to recover
Although recovery from Avéli is minimal, you will also need to prepare for some downtime to allow your body to heal for the best results. Taking time to rest in the days following your procedure will be important for achieving the best results. Preparing your meals ahead of time and running errands can help you have a smoother recovery.
Avéli Procedure
Fibrous septae, bands of connective tissue, anchor the skin to the underlying muscle and contribute to the overall appearance of cellulite. Dr. Ahmadi will make a very thin incision to insert the Avéli wand and loosen these connective bands that pull on the fatty tissue and cause a dimpled appearance. (5) By releasing these bands one by one, the treatment reduces the tension they exert on the overlying fat and skin. This helps to smooth out the uneven texture. After treating the cellulite, Dr. Ahmadi will close the incision and place a dressing over the treatment area to help your body heal. The procedure takes approximately 1-2 hours, and you can return home immediately afterward to rest.
Avéli Recovery
After an Avéli treatment, you will need to return home to rest. You may experience some minor swelling that you can alleviate with a cold compress and medication. You will need to rest for 24 hours, stay hydrated, and eat nutritious meals to help your body heal. You will also need to avoid strenuous exercise for a few days, and we can provide specific instructions based on your procedure to help you achieve the best results. You can return to work after a few days and resume exercise. Dr. Ahmadi can provide specific recovery instructions based on your treatment.
Avéli Results
Results from an Avéli treatment are long-lasting, and if you take good care of your body you can enjoy smoother skin for up to a year. Many patients notice improved skin texture immediately after their treatment. After 1-3 days, you will notice your skin start to settle and any puffiness or swelling start to subside. You can enjoy the full effects of the treatment after 4-6 weeks.
Additional Procedures: After Weight Loss
Although Avéli can improve the appearance of dimpled, uneven skin, it cannot tighten skin. If you recently experienced weight changes and have excess skin that you would like to improve the appearance of, we can perform after weight loss surgery to help you achieve a slimmer figure. After weight loss, it is common for patients to experience a significant amount of loose, droopy skin that affects their body proportions. Common procedures after weight loss include a thigh lift to achieve smoother legs, a tummy tuck to tighten the skin on the abdomen, and an arm lift to eliminate droopy upper arms that sway when you move.
We can combine these procedures with Avéli to help you meet your body goals. To learn more, see our blog.
